Yes, yes and yes. The BBC have released a new teaser trailer for Season 3 of Sherlock starring the formidable Benedict Cumberbatch (who has also starred in the recent Star Trek: Into Darkness) as the intriguing and enigmatic Sherlock Holmes. Martin Freeman, who stars as Watson, also features in the trailer alongside Mark Gatiss, who plays Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's brother. No doubt fans will be excited to see how Holmes avoided death in the last season, and will be eagerly awaiting the announcement of the programme's airing date.
The show has garnered a large fan following over the recent years since it's original air date in 2010, and it's first two seasons have opened to critical acclaim (Season 1 - 85% positive, Season 2 - 91% positive), and this season is set to be the most exciting yet. Although the trailer doesn't offer incredible lengths of insight (as it is only a teaser) into what sort of events to expect, it draws the viewer in through its use of shadow, which outlines Holmes as he finally arrives to meet Watson in a restaurant at the end of the clip. If you haven't managed to get engulfed in this crime drama yet (don't worry, we forgive you), here's your third chance, and I assure you, you won't be disappointed.
