In the lineup this week, there's plenty of new teasers and trailers to appeal to all audiences. First up, is the new teaser trailer for Kill Your Darlings set to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival (having had it's World Premiere at Sundance) and then set to have a limited theatrical North American release (18th October 2013). The film is based around a murder occurring in 1944, which brings together the poets of the beat generation - Allen Ginsburg (portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, who's looking perfect for the role might I add), Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster) - and has already achieved positive critical response. If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see this then I'd highly suggest you do so. The new teaser trailer is below:
Next up is CBGB, an American historical film about the (former) New York music venue, CBGB, owned by Hilly Kristal, as it begins its ascent into the notable underground world of rock 'n roll and punk. Set for a release date on the 11th October 2013, the film stars many notable actors and actresses, such as Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal,
Ashley Greene (you may remember her as Twilight's Alice), Stana Katic (from ABC's Castle) as Genya Ravan, Harry Potter's Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome, Johnny Galecki (CBS' The Big Bang Theory) as Terry Ork and many others. The trailer looks pretty good, and it will be interesting to see so many well-known stars in different roles. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, check out the trailer below:
Finally, we have How I Live Now, an upcoming film based on the 2004 novel of the same name written by Meg Rosoff and set for release on the 18th October 2013. The premise of the film, like the novel, is that a young teenager living in New York is sent to the countryside in England to live with her cousins and embarks on many adventures and forms strong relationships with her new extended family.
The themes of the film are relationships and war and the effect and consequences of the latter with the former. Daisy, the main character, is portrayed by Saoirse Ronan, who has starred in many notable films such as Atonement (2007), The Lovely Bones (2009) and Hanna (2011). The film also features Tom Holland as Isaac, Anna Chancellor as Aunt Penn and George MacKay as Edmond. Watch the new trailer below:
