Polly Scattergood - Cocoon (+ Official Music Video)

British singer-songwriter Polly Scattergood has recently released the music video for her celestial song 'Cocoon', from upcoming album Arrows. The track from the rising artist, most known for her ethereal style, combines indie pop and experimental sounds to create a delicate, relaxing sound and beat (the backing not dissimilar to Austra's 'Spellwork').

It's an interesting acoustic, with a soft beat and addictive, sweet vocals; this release sees Scattergood back into the music industry, with her former album having been released in 2009, and her last single being released due to a leak in early 2013 (entitled 'Wanderlust'). The music video has a little bit of a disturbing, entrancing undertone, which you can watch below:

The video itself plays out in three differing sections which switch between moving images of landscapes, trees and a 'story' which involves a 'sister' and 'father' along with the main 'character': a brown haired lady who seems to be undergoing some sort of hypnotherapy. It's a bit bizarre but entertaining enough, and strangely fits quite nicely in with the music, playing out like a short art film. If this sounds like your sort of thing or your just curious, then I'd recommend watching above, and hopefully we'll be seeing more from this young recording artist.
