MØ - XXX 88 ft. Diplo (+ Official Music Video)

Danish singer and songwriter MØ has recently released the music video (scroll down to watch) for her new track 'XXX 88' which features Diplo. The track has a grungy and edgy vibe to it, possessing electronic/r&b vibes (there's a sort of twang to MØ's voice which reminds me a little of Nelly Furtado) and sounds like the type of track you'd wave your hands in the air to whilst day-dreaming (which is co-incindently what the danish artist does in the video).

The song has a calming, soulful feel to it, which will no doubt gain MØ more fans for her music and on her vevo channel. In the video (watch below) we can see MØ playing the 'bored teenager,' fantasising over magazines featuring Diplo, riding through the deserts on her golden motorbike and performing some crazy and impulsive dance moves.

As you can see, the video opens with MØ lazily lounging on her bed, then shaking her pony tail all over the place (expect lots more of this). MØ stares longingly out of her window as the scene fades to desert landscapes as she zooms down the highway on her scooter. I must say, the cape really adds to the whole look here.

Switching back to the bedroom scene, she enthusiastically grabs the crotch of the male model on her magazine (Diplo) and day-dreams. Fading out once again, she's carrying a pirate-esque flag with 'XXX' imprinted on it whilst her company chill-dances in the background. Oh and there's a lot of crotch-shots. Because that's definitely what this video was lacking - close ups of peoples genitalia (through their clothes). And then comes the best part of the video - MØ's erratic dancing. She drops, shakes and throws around her ponytail, grabbing her chain in her mouth and fist pumping to the sky (cue laughter from audiences).

She's certainly fun-loving and care-free in the video, as she manages to climb a rock and stand, soaking up the sun until unfortunately her day-dream ends and she's back where the video started. Kind of somber really. The track sounds very nostalgic and is extremely catchy and with the upcoming debut on Avicii's track 'Dear Boy' from his latest album True, we should be seeing more of MØ in the near future.
