Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence (Music Video) [+ Review]

Lana Del Rey has released the music video (scroll down to watch) for her latest single, 'Ultraviolence', which is the title track from her album of the same name. The music video has a distinctly sepia tone and faded style, with Del Rey opting for something a little more simplistic to showcase her vocal talents, and its rather apt for quite a heavy topic track. Additionally, you can read our review of the single itself, here. Whilst the simplistic nature of the video may leave some a little beguiled or bored, it is in-keeping with the song, as we're not sure a high-themed or gimmicky video would have been best suited to this type of track (and it's not really Del Rey's style).

The music video is shot home-video style, with use of hand-held camera, as Del Rey gets kitted up in her wedding gear for a mysterious ceremony, complete with veil and white dress. Why/where/what she is doing is an enigma in itself (apart from the obvious) and it certainly leaves many questions as to the meaning of the video. As we have said before, there are always many different theories and interpretations, so we'll leave you to take what you want from the video. Overall, we're satisfied to see a video that is suitable in style for the song, and we look forward to seeing what the next single will be, and what the production value and style will be for the next video, for said single (is it bad we kind of want it to be 'Money Power Glory?'). Let us know your opinions on the new Lana video in the comments below!
