It's here! Lana Del Rey's official music video (watch below!) for her new track 'West Coast' has arrived and it sees Lana heating things up (literally) in this black and white adventure. 'West Coast' is taken from Del Rey's third upcoming studio album, Ultraviolence, in which it is in fact the lead single. So, what sort of music video do you pair with such a sultry, vintage and beguiling track? Well, one with a monochrome aesthetic of course! The music video sees Lana having fun on a beach, making romantic gestures towards her beau, while the waves crash in and so forth. The real twist comes towards the end of the video, which sees the singer engulfed in flames. Bet you weren't expecting that.
The video is suitably glossy but understated, the simple actions and gestures of Del Rey match up perfectly with the smooth sounds of the track. Simplicity is clearly key in the video and that's what really makes it stand-out; it's beautifully envisioned.
If 'West Coast' is anything to go by, then Ultraviolence looks set to be a pleasing release from the divine singer. So, click below to follow Lana's antics on the shores of simplicity in this new music video:
