A brand new trailer for the upcoming fantasy-adventure movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (released 13th December) has arrived, and features a whole lot of explosions, fire and good old Bilbo, Gandalf, and their troupe. In the trailer we also get a glimpse of the voice of the marvellous Benedict Cumberbatch, who voices the terrifying dragon, Smaug. Sufficed to say, we're all pretty pleased. Watch the trailer now, below:
The trailer features Bilbo (Martin Freeman) struggling to prove himself amongst the other Dwarves, and against his secret; he has the one ring of power. Nimble elf, Legolas, (Orlando Bloom) and new elf Tauriel, (Evangeline Lilly) also feature in the trailer, taking out as many orcs with their bow and arrows as they can, whilst Bilbo also gets 'stuck in,' in the spider caves. Ooh, spooky! Also making an appearance is bad-ass Wizard, Gandalf (Ian McKellen). Meanwhile, while we wait for the upcoming series of Sherlock to come back to the BBC, it's nice to see Freeman and Cumberbatch starring alongside something together - even if one's a hobbit and the other is a dragon.
In other news, a new trailer for I, Frankenstein (2014) has been released, and follows the story of 'Adam' Frankenstein (also known as Frankenstein's monster) who has taken the surname of his creator and is now apparently involved in a battle between two immortal groups. Watch the trailer for the action/thriller film, starring Aaron Eckhart, (who you may know as disfigured 'villain' Two-Face/ordinary district attorney Harvey Dent, from The Dark Knight, 2008) below:
So, what do you think of these new trailers? Any of them take your fancy, or do you prefer something featuring a little less action? And most importantly, do you think any of them will be critically successfull or financially so? (We think it's a bit of a given with The Hobbit)
